Our Journey

2015

It started with a simple but uncomfortable question:
What if the data is wrong?

In 2015, Kreuzberg - Berlin, Juan was leading the BI team of a Dutch agency helping international brands enter the German market. The agency worked on a provision-based model. The risk was high, every euro had to perform.

The flagship brand, Paula’s Choice, was stagnating. After scaling Search and Shopping, new customer growth slowed, and revenue depended mainly on promotions.

Google Analytics data showed only Google delivered an acceptable cost of acquisition. Meta, Influencer marketing, and Pinterest were tested, but CACs looked terrible.

Juan ran a test. For one month, spending on Meta and influencer marketing was doubled. The result: the channels that “didn’t work” were driving incremental growth. The issue wasn’t the marketing. It was the measurement. Growth strategies were built on Google Analytics, biased toward the last click and toward Google owned channels.

Over the next three years, Juan built a new tracking and attribution stack together with industry experts, combining more than 15 years of experience in attribution. The direction was clear: The models should be transparent and work for the brand, not the ad platforms.

Using the tracking and attribution prototype, Paula's Choice grew from €500K in annual revenue to > €20 million in Europe within 3 years, contributing to the €1.8 billion Unilever acquisition in 2021.

The idea of Kickbite was born.

2017

Sharing the same problem but from a D2C founder's perspective.

In 2016, Vince was spending his hard-earned bootstrap money on Google and Meta, his new customer share remained flatlined month over month. Still, both ad manager reports claimed great results. He understood the structural bias.

Sharing the problem of unreliable data, Vince joined Juan to co-start the journey of Kickbite in early 2020, leading the commercial strategy and bringing his experience from his just-exited food startup to the table.

2021

The first revenue and kickstart of the German-Ukrainian Kicksquad.

With a crappy Power BI front end but amazing data, Juan and Vince managed to close the first 10 brands such as Paula’s Choice, Floris van Bommel, and Ankerkraut.

With the additional revenue in the back, Volodymyr and Denys joined as tech co-founders. Building a shop system with directly integrated ERP together over the last five years, the duo was a perfect match. With the two new co-founders starting to code Kickbite, the journey of the German-Ukrainian collaboration took up pace, tech fully built in Ukraine.

2015

The war shaped us, but it never defined us.

The still young company Kickbite experienced the toughest times. One year after the company was officially founded, Russia invaded Ukraine. The war heavily impacted the team; peers and interested investors advised shifting the tech team to a safer region.

But the founders made a different decision. They cut their own salaries, dropped investor funding, and went into bootstrap mode to keep building in Ukraine and grow the team with Ukraine-based members only.

Today

Loyalty pays off. Meet our warriors.

Despite the war, Kickbite remained loyal to its roots. Hiring in Ukraine, growing the team from 2 in 2021 to 11 developers, data scientists, and product designers in 2026.

How we work

Loyal to Performance
Radical Honesty
Obsessed with Action

Although we are a SaaS product, we treat every new customer like a project. Data quality is not achieved with a click onboarding. Every webshop has a different logic. Custom Order Status fields or Checkout funnels, broken sessions due to payment provider traffic and many other topics influence the data quality you base your budget decisions on.

We do not stop until you trust the data. We do not stop until you take action.
